When eBay announced Q2 results (July 2011), Donahoe teased the new ad campaign by simply saying “It’s not your Mother’s eBay”.
Today eBay has officially released the first round of ads and I’ve embedded them here for your viewing pleasure. One thing that is interesting is they all focus on the mobile buying experience. I also thought it was interesting that they all had a bit of a mean streak to them as a way of drawing attention I suppose (but thankfully not as bad as the Groupon superbowl ad mean streak). I look forward to hearing your comments on the ads. If history is a predictor, these will be all over ESPN this weekend and other big audience shows.
