TheFindGreen launched on the 25th and is the first green shopping search engine; i.e. it searches only “green” stores and brands.
I asked Siva why target green products when their audience is mostly women, and he told me that women are the main segment interested in shopping for the “eco-friendly movement.”
The main areas for “Green” tends to be around fashion (clothing, handbags),
health and beauty (makeup, lotions, haircare), home products (cleaners,
decorative items, free-trade manufacturers, energy efficient products, etc..)
and food (organic, renewable cultivation, free-trade certified products). All of
these segments are clearly ones that women shop for.
In terms of marketing the site, TheFind is targeting key bloggers in the green space to spread the word and get some press play near the holidays.
