On the heels of Google, Yahoo is now up to bat for adding fancy features to its product listing ads (PLAs). Just a month ago, Google was caught testing price comparison within PLAs, and Yahoo soon hopped on board by adding filters to its PLA results.

Yahoo’s spruced-up PLAs — initially spotted by The SEM Post — now include options like “shop by brand,” “shop by price” and “shop by category” so users can narrow down and fine-tune shopping results.

We didn’t have luck spotting PLA filters in categories other than apparel and electronics, which leads us to believe that Yahoo is still in the initial phase of testing the filter’s usability.

We’re keeping a close eye on the public debut of this feature. Yahoo is able to serve 100% of its own PLAs, so retailers who are using Bing Shopping Campaigns will certainly want to give Yahoo a try.
