December 21, 2009 The Ronald McDonald House and ChannelAdvisor Partner to Provide Families Holiday Gifts
Research Triangle Park, NC – December, 21 2009 – This holiday season, ChannelAdvisor is teaming up with the Ronald McDonald House of Durham to make the season a little brighter for the families living at the House while their children receive medical treatment at nearby health facilities. ChannelAdvisor, a software provider that helps retailers sell online, will host a “Holiday Toy Store and Shopping Experience,” providing gifts, gift-wrapping, baked goods and holiday cheer for Ronald McDonald families on Monday, December 21, 2009.
“Ongoing medical costs and living expenses leave many of our families stretched thin during the holidays,” said Scharmen Konieczka, annual fund director of the Ronald McDonald House of Durham. “Further, with their children undergoing multiple treatments, families often have difficulty finding time to go shopping. The team at ChannelAdvisor has opened their hearts and their wallets to help out our families, and we’re very grateful for their generosity.”
The gifts in the ChannelAdvisor store will not be just for children, but will also include items that the children can give their parents. Families are invited to visit ChannelAdvisor throughout the day to shop, enjoy holiday music and refreshments, and have their gifts packaged and wrapped by the ChannelAdvisor staff.
“Many of the families living in the Ronald McDonald House have traversed multiple states, uprooted their lives and quit their jobs to ensure that their children get the best care possible,” said Scot Wingo, CEO of ChannelAdvisor. “We hope that by hosting the Holiday Store we can alleviate some of the stress and expense of the holiday season for these resilient families and their brave children.”
