August 18, 2011 Premium Fishing Reels in Online Sales Using ChannelAdvisor

Australia’s Largest Online Fishing Company Sees Exponential Growth, Expands Internationally

Melbourne, AU – August 18, 2011 – ChannelAdvisor, a global e-commerce platform provider that enables retailers to sell more across online channels, today announced that Premium Fishing, the Australian fisherman’s premier tackle source, has increased sales ten-fold since utilising ChannelAdvisor’s Premium Marketplaces and Webstores solutions. ChannelAdvisor has enabled Premium Fishing to maximise eBay opportunities, increase online presence through its webstore, and helped the company expand to new geographies.

“ChannelAdvisor has been a trusted e-commerce partner for Premium Fishing since 2007, and we have seen tremendous success with both the Marketplaces and Webstores solutions,” said James Karvounaris, managing director, Premium Fishing. “ChannelAdvisor has allowed us to cut costs, sell into several marketplaces from one location and expand globally. With ChannelAdvisor’s help, we have effectively expanded into New Zealand and the United States and we look to replicate this success in Europe.”

“Specialty fishing products are part of a very niche market and Premium Fishing is a great example of how companies can utilise multiple online channels to target the right customers across the globe,” said Mark Gray, managing director, APAC, ChannelAdvisor. “The quality and value of Premium Fishing products and an automated way of getting those online to the masses has produced significant growth for Premium Fishing. We look forward to continuing this successful partnership for years to come.”

The Marketplaces Inventory Management tool allowed Premium Fishing to launch, track and automate inventory across eBay and their retail webstore from one central platform. This eliminated duplicate product data and prevented overselling and having excess stock count. Furthermore, Premium Fishing was able to provide a customised checkout experience through ChannelAdvisor, which also enabled upsells after purchase.

According to Karvounaris, prior to signing on with ChannelAdvisor, Premium Fishing was utilising various disparate tools for their online business and were looking for a unified platform that was scalable. ChannelAdvisor was the only solution that ticked all the boxes. “ChannelAdvisor has definitely exceeded our expectations as a company that was able to help us grow our brand beyond eBay.” said Karvounaris.

Premium Fishing sell a range of fishing equipment and own a number of brands, including Pelagic Extreme. Pelagic Extreme, an Australian and United States owned Premium Fishing brand is today synonymous with Australian fishing. It has become an Australian icon, with more than 10 million units sold throughout the world market.

Premium Marketplaces is a powerful part of the ChannelAdvisor platform, helping retailers sell more and spend less on sites like eBay by automating the tedious tasks of e-commerce from product distribution to post-sale.

Premium Fishing joins ChannelAdvisor’s impressive customer list of leading retailers globally including Dell, oo.com.au, Under Armour, Corporate Express, Crocs, eMitch Ltd., 3M and Speedo.
