November 2, 2010 ChannelAdvisor Promotes, Expands Executive Team
Research Triangle Park, NC – November 2, 2010 – ChannelAdvisor, a software and services solution provider that enables online retailers to sell more across e-commerce channels, announced today the promotion of David Spitz to president and chief operating officer, the promotion of Brad Schomber to vice president of finance as well as the hiring of Tat Ng for the vice president of engineering position. Ng will be relocating to the company’s Research Triangle Park headquarters from his home in the Washington, D.C. area.
“David and Brad were instrumental in guiding ChannelAdvisor through the recession and to profitability, and I am pleased to see them broaden their responsibilities at ChannelAdvisor,” said ChannelAdvisor CEO Scot Wingo. “David has proven to be an exceptional manager no matter what challenges we’ve given him, and this position will enable him to directly contribute to our global growth.”
David Spitz, previously chief operating officer, has been promoted to president and chief operating officer and given expanded responsibilities including global sales and marketing. During his four years with ChannelAdvisor, Spitz has managed multiple acquisitions, orchestrated ChannelAdvisor’s restructuring and transformed its business model to improve ChannelAdvisor’s profitability and long-term growth potential. Spitz received the Triangle Business Journal’s “CFO of the Year” award in 2010 and its “40 Under 40 Leadership Award” in 2008.
Brad Schomber, previously director of finance, has been promoted to vice president of finance and will also oversee global human resources. Schomber began at ChannelAdvisor in 2006 in the position of controller and has earned several promotions by demonstrating a consistent ability to manage the financial, legal and reporting complexities inherent in running a global company.
ChannelAdvisor’s incoming vice president of engineering, Tat Ng, joins the company from Rivermine, a provider of on-demand telecom expense management solutions based in Washington, D.C. During his tenure as senior vice president of engineering and hosting operations at Rivermine, Ng was responsible for the development and maintenance of the company’s three SaaS-based product platforms and the operations of its hosting infrastructure.
“The size and scale of ChannelAdvisor’s infrastructure, which powers thousands of transactions per day for our 3,000+ customers, takes an incredible amount of experience and finesse to manage. We spent a lot of time seeking a world-class executive with the appropriate experience, and Tat exceeded our demands,” continued Wingo. “With Tat’s global product development expertise, we’re going into 2011 bigger, stronger and with more momentum than we’ve ever had.”
“ChannelAdvisor is in a position to further extend its industry leadership with the focusing of its engineering talent,” said Ng. “Joining ChannelAdvisor will be an exciting challenge for me, though I’ll be equipped with a dedicated and talented team. I look forward to many shared successes in the years ahead.”
