July 15, 2015 ChannelAdvisor participates in Purchases on Google program to help retailers improve mobile conversion rates
Research Triangle Park, NC – July 15, 2015 – ChannelAdvisor Corporation (NYSE:ECOM), a leading provider of cloud-based e-commerce solutions that enable retailers and manufacturers to increase global sales, today announced its participation in the Purchases on Google program. Purchases on Google is a mobile-only feature of Product Listing Ads that enables users to buy products on Google from participating merchants. This new feature is designed to reduce friction on mobile transactions and improve retailers’ conversion rates.
“The distinction between advertising channels and transactional channels is blurring,” said ChannelAdvisor CEO David Spitz. “Purchases on Google is a reflection of the evolving future of e-commerce and the important role of mobile. The goal for online retailers is to be in front of as many shoppers as possible and these transactional product ads should help them do just that.”
E-commerce channels are uniting with the surge of buy buttons on social channels and now Google. By participating in this pilot program, ChannelAdvisor is helping its customers prepare for this industry shift. Purchases on Google is targeted to help retailers improve mobile sales, acquire customers and create multiple paths to purchase.
As a feature of Product Listing Ads, Purchases on Google’s pricing model will remain cost-per-click. When a shopper clicks on a Product Listing Ad with “Buy on Google” text, that shopper is taken to a retailer-branded checkout page hosted by Google.
“Our long-standing relationships with industry leaders such as Google enable our team to have enhanced visibility into what’s next for online retail,” said Spitz. “This awareness helps us innovate our platform and forge new ground for our customers. It’s time for retailers to embrace transactional advertising to better position themselves for e-commerce success.”
