NPD to provide stock status data to help accelerate Buy Local capabilities

 

Research Triangle Park, N.C. – Nov. 19, 2018 – ChannelAdvisor Corporation (NYSE: ECOM), a leading provider of cloud-based e-commerce solutions that enable brands and retailers to increase global sales, today announced a data sharing agreement with NPD Group, a market information company that provides data, industry expertise, and prescriptive analytics for more than 20 industries. NPD will share stock status data with ChannelAdvisor to help enhance Buy Local capabilities for manufacturers.

Part of ChannelAdvisor’s Where to Buy product line, Buy Local, adds functionality to websites by allowing consumers to quickly locate products at brick-and-mortar stores in a certain geographic area of their choosing. Buy Local supports two featured options: Store Locator and Product Locator. Store locator is a feature that returns data on brand availability at physical stores. It allows consumers to find where a manufacturer’s products are sold at brick-and-mortar retail locations within a defined geographic area near them. Product Locator goes one step deeper and displays the availability of product-specific, in-store selections.
