October 27, 2011 AutoPartsDirectToYou Increases Revenue Eightfold on eBay and Amazon with ChannelAdvisor’s Marketplaces Solution
Research Triangle Park, NC – October 27, 2011 – ChannelAdvisor, a global e-commerce platform provider that enables retailers to sell more across online channels, today announced that AutoPartsDirectToYou, an automotive replacement parts retailer, has increased its online revenue more than 800 percent on eBay and Amazon since launching ChannelAdvisor’s Marketplaces solution.
AutoPartsDirectToYou ramped up on eBay with ChannelAdvisor in 2006 and has since launched on Amazon. The automotive category is currently the fastest growing third-party category on Amazon, and AutoPartsDirectToYou is reaping the rewards of expanding on this additional marketplace with ChannelAdvisor’s software. Amazon now accounts for 25 percent of the motor parts retailer’s online business.
“ChannelAdvisor has been good to us over the years and has made it much easier for us to scale our business on eBay and Amazon,” said AutoPartsDirectToYou Owner Joel Cohen. “We made a great decision to expand on Amazon, and as the auto category continues to grow on marketplaces we have the potential to grow even more in turn.”
ChannelAdvisor’s Marketplaces solution automates the product-listing process for AutoPartsDirectToYou; no small feat as the retailer has access to more than five million products through vendor catalogs. ChannelAdvisor is able to match the retailer’s product data to inventory in the Amazon catalog to guarantee that each item is listed properly and quickly. AutoPartsDirectToYou’s exposure has been magnified by Amazon’s Part Finder functionality, which allows consumers to search for replacement parts by the make, model and year of any vehicle.
AutoPartsDirectToYou is in the process of adding search and comparison shopping channels to its e-commerce line-up. Using ChannelAdvisor’s Inventory Driven Search feature, AutoPartsDirectToYou will be able to replicate its success with Amazon’s product search capabilities on Google and other paid search engines. Inventory Driven Search automatically generates and updates long tail keywords — very specific search terms that include details like make, model and year – to increase AutoPartsDirectToYou’s overall product visibility.
ChannelAdvisor’s work with retailers such as Ford, Jegs, Eastwood, K2, Volvo of Dallas and many more distinguishes the software company as the premier automotive e-commerce solution provider.
