CHANNELADVISOR ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FOR GOOGLE CHECKOUT
Research Triangle Park, NC – June 29, 2006 –ChannelAdvisor, the leading provider of channel management solutions (CMS) announced today full support for Google Checkout simultaneously with Google’s release.
Google Checkout provides consumers with a single log in to buy across the web. It also allows consumers to locate secure merchants to purchase from by highlighting fast, secure places to shop in paid search advertisements.
For online merchants, Google Checkout allows merchants to display the Google Checkout badge on their Google Adword listings which helps them stand out as a safe and secure merchant.
“We’ve been working closely with ChannelAdvisor and Google on the development of Google Checkout and we’re excited to go live with support in all of our online channels today,” said Mark Fitzgerald, Managing Partner/CTO of Grapevinehill, a top online shoe merchant. “We’re excited to offer our customers an innovative new way to buy from Grapevinehill.”
Once merchants have a Google Checkout account, ChannelAdvisor’s support allows merchants to turn on Google Checkout with two simple steps:
- The merchant enters their Google Checkout information so that ChannelAdvisor can use the information to communicate with Google’s Checkout APIs using encryption.
- Finally the merchant selects the online channels where they want to offer Google Checkout as an option.
While Google Checkout is currently available only in the U.S., ChannelAdvisor will continue to work closely with Google to ensure timely support for the latest enhancements and locales.
“We’re excited to offer our merchants who represent over $1.2 billion in annual GMV the ability to offer Google Checkout today,” said Scot Wingo, Chief Executive Officer of ChannelAdvisor. “The availability of the new checkout system for all channels (search, comparison shopping, marketplaces and E-Commerce) will not only offer merchants considerable savings, but will also help them increase their Google AdWords ROI through increasing click through rates by displaying the Google Checkout badge on their sponsored listings.”
